Enfys Window Hanging (Free Pattern)

Good Morning, I hope you’re well and keeping safe?

My Instagram feed has been full of Rainbows recently. They have become to be a symbol of hope in these uncertain times.

I love the idea of hanging rainbows up in our windows for those who are social distancing to see when they are walking past the house doing thier daily exercise.

If you would like to make youself a crocheted Rainbow to hang up in your window I’ve included the pattern for free below, and for those wondering, Enfys is the Welsh name for Rainbow!

Enfys Window Hanging Pattern

This pattern has been written using UK Crochet terms and is designed with a confident beginner crocheter in mind.

The rainbow can be made using any yarn, however using a different weight yarn will mean you will end up with a smaller or larger rainbow and you will need to adjust your hook size according to the weight of yarn used.

The rainbow pictured was made using scraps of Double Knit (DK) / 8ply light worsted weight yarn. I used 7 colours for the rainbow and a separate colour for the tassels.

You are welcome to sell any rainbows that you make from this pattern, however, please credit me as the designer by linking any listings to my Etsy shop https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/MyCrochetPlaceUk

I would love to see your finished rainbows! Please tag me on Instagram using @mycrochetplace or by using the hashtag #mycrochetplaceuk or #enfyswindowhanging.

You are also more than welcome to contact me with any questions/ queries via direct message on Instagram or via email mycrochetplaceuk@gmail.com.

To hang your Rainbow, tie some string around both ends of your wooden dowel and you’re done!

You can make small pom poms clouds to attach along the bottom of the rainbow by wrapping white yarn around a fork or make some tassels like I did and attach them along the bottom of the rainbow. Doing this will add weight and ensure that your rainbow hangs straight.

Take care and Stay Home and Crochet,

Eleri xx
