March has been and gone, and it happened to be a busy crochet month! I’ve released two new patterns (Easy Peasy Chevron Pattern and Chasing Diamonds Pattern) finished a WIP and started working on another 2 new patterns … one of which I’m going to share with you today!
My new pattern has evolved from my Easy Peasy Chevron pattern. I was looking to come up with a design that was a little different and after numerous attempts (which involved a lot of maths, frogging and settling on the right hook size) I’ve finally come up with a design that I’m happy with.
I thought that I’d cracked it with the attempt above but after sleeping on it, I decided that the blanket when worked up felt a little dense and didn’t have as much drape as I would like, so I went up a hook size and ended up with this ….
….. Isn’t it beautiful?
I’m really happy with the result. The drape and texture of the blanket is lovely and I’m really enjoying working with these colours … they’re a bit quirky but I think they work really well together.
I also like the gothic vibe of the blanket, the peaks remind me of the pointed arch shape of Gothic Revival windows you find in many Cathedrals and Churches.
So if you’re looking for me over the next week or two I’ll be sat here working on this pattern! 😉
Best Wishes and Happy Hooking!
